STAMP GRADINGS                  
                 
There is much variation between dealers in the manner in which they describe the stamps they offer for sale.  Although Unmounted Mint and Mounted Mint leave little room for interpretation (covering unused stamps with or without hinge marks), this is not the case with the various grades of used from 'superb used' down to 'space-filler'.  For example, what one dealer considers to be 'very fine used' may only be considered 'fine used' by another.  As such, some judgement has been required by Market-Movements in ascribing a grading to stamps offered for sale.  This is necessary if sufficient consistency is to be provided to generate reasonably realistic average values for each stamp.  
The following grading descriptions have been used in this listing:

(Section 1)                  
                 
Unmounted Mint Unused with full gum, without hinge marks.  Four good margins on imperforates.    
Mounted Mint Unused with full gum and hinge marks.  Four good margins on imperforates
Very Fine Used Used with light or clear postmark.  Four good margins on imperforates  
Fine used Used with heavier or less clear postmark.  Four margins on imperforates    
Average Used Used with heavier postmark or minor faults. Four margins, some close, on imperforates

Unmounted Mint Unused, reasonably well centred, with full gum, without hinge marks.    
Mounted Mint Unused, reasonably well centred with full gum, but with hinge marks.

Fine used Used, centring less good or heavier postmark.

Very Fine Used Used, well centred with light postmark.            
Fine used Used, reasonably centred with heavier or less clear postmark, but otherwise without faults.          
Average Used Used, reasonably centred but with heavy postmark or very minor faults.      
First Day Cover All stamps of set on single cover postmarked on first day of issue.  Address handwritten or typed.

(Sections 4 and 5)                  
                 
Unmounted Mint Unused, well centred with full gum, without hinge marks.      
Mounted Mint Unused, well centred with full gum, but with hinge marks.    
Very Fine Used Used, well centred with light postmark, usually circular date stamp.      
Fine used Used, reasonably centred with heavier or less clear postmark, but otherwise without faults.    
First Day Cover All stamps of set on single cover postmarked on first day of issue.  Address handwritten or typed.

Unmounted Mint Unused, well centred, with full gum, without hinge marks.      
Mounted Mint Unused, well centred with full gum, but with hinge marks.

First Day Cover All stamps of the set on single cover postmarked on the first day of issue.  Address typed or printed, or unaddressed.
Presentation Pack Set of unmounted mint stamps in official Post Office presentation wallet.    
PHQ Mint Set of postcards, unused and unmarked          
PHQ Used Front Set of postcards, each bearing the stamp (or miniature sheet) depicted on that card and postmarked on the first day of issue.  Stamp on the front (picture) side.  Address typed or printed, or unaddressed.
PHQ Used Back Set of postcards, each bearing the stamp (or miniature sheet) depicted on that card and postmarked on the first day of issue.  Stamp on the back (address) side.  Address typed or printed, or unaddressed.
