| Annual rates of inflation for each Section have been estimated based on the approximately 35,000 items of data from which the values included in this website have been calculated. An index figure is calculated at the end of each month and the inflation figures below are calculated by comparing each month's index to the equivalent figure twelve months previously. To provide some smoothing, the index figures compared are actually the averages of that month and the two previous months. | |||||||||||||
